Performance Uniform

Step Unifrom

Our uniform consist of black joggers, black boots and any LSN spirit wear. Depending on the occasion we may wear different shirts. All team members must have these items to perform. All purchases were from Walmart and our uniform is very specific so contact Ms. Gray or Ms. Tigner before purchasing.

Practices are held after school on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, unless we are told otherwise. We meet in the hallway next to the commons and we may practice there or go to an aux gym if it is open. Wear loose comfortable clothing and tennis shoes. To help you find where we meet, a school map is under the "Important Links" section.

What is Stepping?

Stepping is a form of artistic dance using your body as an instrument. With a combination of footsteps, claps, and the spoken work you can make sounds and rhythms. Stepping is derived from a long and rich tradition in African-based communities to communicate allegiance to a group through movement, words and sounds. Today step is widely performed by fraternities and sororities. It is also spreading to other groups such as, Latino and Asian Americans. These links provide more information on “What is Stepping?”.
